Gavin Newsom revealed Monday that the federal government is investigating him and his wife over their family\u2019s finances. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/americanmovershub.com\/?p=1802\">Republican leaders request briefing on Iran deal as details remain unclear<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He alleged the Justice Department\u2019s move comes at President Donald Trump\u2019s direction, because Newsom is \u201cconsidering running for president.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn recent days, federal agents have knocked on the doors of family, friends and former employees,\u201d Newsom said in his video statement, published to social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot because they found a crime. Because they are simply trying to find one.\u201d <\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Today, my wife &amp; I joined Donald Trump\u2019s hit list. He has directed his Department of Justice to investigate us. They have not found a crime &#8211; they are simply trying to find one.<\/p>\n<p>He isn&#8217;t coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for President.\u2026 pic.twitter.com\/tVYk3WUvO8<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Gavin Newsom (@GavinNewsom) June 15, 2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Newsom told Trump not to involve his family, saying, \u201cYou can subpoena my records, you can investigate me, you can harass me, put my name on every and any enemies list you have, but leave my wife and family out of your personal vendetta.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>CNN reported the investigation isn\u2019t directly into Newsom, but does include his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom. <\/p>\n<p>The investigation also includes the governor\u2019s former chief of staff, Dana Williamson, who was indicted in November 2025 on federal charges over her alleged attempts to steal campaign funds from the campaign of former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra. Williamson pleaded guilty to three out of two dozen charges. <\/p>\n<p>Newsom\u2019s latest statement isn\u2019t the first time he has publicly tangled with Trump and it won\u2019t be the last. I\u2019ll run, but only as your VP because the truth of the matter is that the vice president\u2019s residence is a lot cooler. It\u2019s a lot easier job, too,\u201d Biden told Newsom jokingly. <\/p>\n<p>Later, in a post on X, Biden wrote, \u201cNo Democrat has won the White House this century without a Biden on the ticket,\u201d before clarifying it was a joke. <\/p>\n<p>During the interview, on \u201cThis Is Gavin Newsom,\u201d Biden addressed receiving a presidential pardon from his father, former President Joe Biden, who ultimately \u201cchose me over his legacy,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden also acknowledged his candid posts on X, where he has answered questions about his addiction and rehabilitation, and also revealed he is in the midst of releasing two books he wrote, chapter by chapter on Substack.
