But the ones tied to fear or great sadness were emotionally charged. Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings have had an influence on Flowers\u2019 work, but \u201cThrasher\u201d takes it a step farther: The album was recorded in Nashville and features David Rawlings, a guitarist who is a longtime collaborator with Gillian Welch; and Charlie McCoy, a harmonica player who played on all four of Bob Dylan\u2019s Nashville records, per the press release. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I\u2019ve gotten older, I\u2019ve found my way back to my father\u2019s music \u2014 \u2018Country-Western\u2019 (as he called it) \u2014 and discovered that the stories I carry really feel most at home in the skin of this beautiful American tradition,\u201d Flowers said in a statement, per Deseret News. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlans,\u201d the first single from the new album, releases Friday. <\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>THRASHER 8\/21.
