It\u2019s that time of week again, when the grass gets long, and you groan at the thought of doing lawn care. The thing is, we don\u2019t realize how harmful this 3,000 square feet of grass really is.<\/p>\n

About 2,500 to 5,000 gallons of water are used every time your lawn is watered, according to Grow the Flow Utah. 60% of Utah\u2019s water goes toward your lawn, experts at Utah State University say. That water could be stored in reservoirs or used to replenish our pride and joy, the Great Salt Lake. <\/p>\n

Now that your mouth is starting to feel dry, let\u2019s talk about solutions. The most efficient solution is to swap to a water-wise lawn. I\u2019m not asking you to landscape with only gravel; replacing your lawn with plants native to Utah is a great way to ensure your lawn doesn\u2019t look like a prison yard. Using a smart irrigation system and being water-conscious are also great solutions. <\/p>\n
