The BYU creamery has a new fan. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s Dallas Jenkins. <\/p>\n

While filming the seventh and final season of \u201cThe Chosen\u201d in Goshen, Jenkins took a moment to reflect on what his time in Utah has meant to him. <\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time I come here, I feel so welcomed,\u201d Jenkins said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s something very warm about (the Goshen set). Even just landing on the plane, there\u2019s usually people who in the airport will stop me and tell me how much the show means to them. … It\u2019s very clear that Utah loves \u2018The Chosen\u2019 and wants us here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jenkins also mentioned that during his time spent working in Utah, he\u2019s found some of his favorite restaurants and ice cream spots in the country. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to not allow anyone to disagree with me on this,\u201d he said. \u201cThe BYU Creamery is the primary place. The milk here is amazing.\u201d <\/p>\n

He added, \u201cAnd then Black Sheep Cafe, best restaurant.\u201d <\/p>\n

Joe Tiapson, director of performance and strategy with BYU Dining Services, said it was \u201cawesome\u201d to hear Jenkins name the BYU Creamery ice cream as one of his favorites. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe love to hear that kind of feedback from the community,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s such a treat when we can introduce new friends and people outside of BYU to the BYU Creamery.\u201d <\/p>\n

The Creamery has built a longstanding reputation for its ice cream and other dairy products, drawing fans ranging from politicians to leaders in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Tiapson said. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s a memorable spot for many because of the diligent process Creamery chefs go through perfecting each new ice cream flavor, texture, color and name, Tiapson explained. \u201cWe want it done right and we want it done well every time.\u201d<\/p>\n

In January, the Creamery on Ninth underwent a sweeping makeover, expanding to accommodate the crowds that regularly packed the store. The changes have helped the beloved ice cream spot better serves students and the wider community, generating double the customer traffic. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe just love engagement with the community and we love the positive feedback and just that we\u2019re able to help people break bread together and, and have a great experience,\u201d said Tiapson. \u201cWe\u2019re glad that lots of memories are being created at the Creamery.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u2018The Chosen\u2019 and Utah<\/h3>\n

Filming for \u201cThe Chosen\u201d Season 7 is split between a set in Midlothian, Texas, and the set in Goshen \u2014 a small town on the southwest edge of Utah County. <\/p>\n

Construction on the Utah replica of Jerusalem began in 2010. The set, which is officially called the Motion Picture Studio South Campus, is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.<\/p>\n

With permission from the church, \u201cThe Chosen\u201d has rented the set for filming since Season 2.<\/p>\n

After spending three weeks in Goshen in June, cast and crew will returned to Texas to complete filming the final season, which runs through September, totaling 90 days on set between Utah and Texas.<\/p>\n

Last week, the cast of \u201cThe Chosen\u201d wrapped filming in Utah and said goodbye to the set. <\/p>\n

\u201cThank you Utah and goodbye,\u201d wrote Abe Bueno Jallad, who plays Big James. \u201cThe last 6 years of filming this show over the incredible landscapes has impacted my life in ways only my eyes will be able to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n

And Giavani Cairo, who plays Thaddeus, wrote, \u201cThank you Utah. You\u2019ve been our home away from home for 7 years and yesterday was our last day. As painful as it is to say goodbye, I\u2019m forever grateful for the memories you\u2019ve given us.\u201d <\/p>\n
