Taylor Frankie Paul is opening up about her decision to enter a rehab facility, a choice she said she made when she \u201cneeded extra help.\u201d <\/p>\n

The Utah-based reality star discussed her brief stay in rehab in a series of Instagram stories shared on Sunday, explaining why she sought treatment at her doctor\u2019s recommendation. <\/p>\n

\u201cI knew that I was in a spot to take a step back and be like, \u2018OK, we need a reset,\u2019\u201d Paul said. \u201cNo. 1 priority was just a reset for my mental health and to get away \u2014 decompress, whether it\u2019s one day, whether it\u2019s seven, whether it\u2019s 30. I willingly did that. That was my choice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul also clarified that rehab is \u201cnot for just substance\u201d abuse, explaining that her stay was focused on treating her mental health, including finding the right medication. <\/p>\n

She added that her stay in the facility had been \u201cweaponized\u201d against her, though she did not specify what she meant, saying that it \u201cbums me out.\u201d <\/p>\n

Reports surfaced last week that Paul had entered rehab at the recommendation of her doctor and had since completed her stay. <\/p>\n

Paul\u2019s brief, voluntary stay in rehab follows months of public fallout stemming from a now-closed police investigation into an alleged domestic abuse incident involving her former boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.<\/p>\n

Paul built a career as a leading influencer in the viral #MomTok community on TikTok, a group of Utah women who share clips of their lives online.<\/p>\n

She has also starred in four seasons of \u201cThe Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,\u201d which has chronicled her on-again, off-again relationship with Mortensen.<\/p>\n

Reports of now-dismissed allegations involving a domestic abuse incident with Mortensen mounted in mid-March during the weeks leading up to Paul\u2019s season of \u201cThe Bachelorette.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amid the police investigation, TMZ published leaked footage of a separate physical altercation from 2023 in which Paul is seen kicking Mortensen and throwing metal barstools at him, prompting ABC to pull the show just three days before its scheduled premiere.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of \u2018The Bachelorette\u2019 at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,\u201d a Disney spokesperson said at the time.<\/p>\n

In a March statement obtained by People magazine, a spokesperson for Paul said, \u201cTaylor is very grateful for ABC\u2019s support as she prioritizes her family\u2019s safety and security. After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amid the fallout, Paul also chose not to resume filming \u201cThe Secret Lives of Mormon Wives\u201d Season 5, and took a step back from the spotlight for her mental heath, which included briefly deactivating her social media accounts.<\/p>\n

Will Paul\u2019s season of \u2018The Bachelorette\u2019 air?<\/h3>\n

Paul\u2019s season of \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d is reportedly set to air on ABC in mid-July, according to an exclusive report from TMZ last week.<\/p>\n

Final plans for the previously canceled season have not been confirmed, with the outlet reporting that the network has been conducting audience testing to gauge viewer response to Paul.<\/p>\n

A source close to the project said in April that ABC remained undecided on whether to air Paul\u2019s season of \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d following the dismissal of her charges.<\/p>\n

Rob Mills, the executive vice president of unscripted for Walt Disney TV, said that the network was \u201cstill processing everything and figuring out\u201d as it weighed options for the still-unaired season. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe take everything a day at a time,\u201d Mills told The Wrap. \u201cAnd really just kind of looking at everything, and first and foremost, honestly, just making sure that Taylor, her family, everyone is being taken care of, just on a personal and human front.\u201d<\/p>\n

Canceling Paul\u2019s season of \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d could cost ABC tens of millions in production expenses and millions more in potential revenue.<\/p>\n

Each episode of the series costs an estimated $2 million to produce, and a typical season of \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d runs nine to 13 episodes. At that rate, the network is projected to lose between $18 million and $26 million in production costs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have already lost a lot of money,\u201d a source exclusively told Us Weekly in March. \u201cThey face losing $40 to $50 million now that they\u2019ve canceled.\u201d<\/p>\n
