But the reality of enacting changes to how elections are administered is becoming less likely with less than four months until Election Day. <\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>VP Vance here on the Hill to assist Speaker Johnson with pushing forward reconciliation 3.0 pic.twitter.com\/NeSix2u8sg<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Cami Mondeaux (@cami_mondeaux) July 15, 2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Still, Vance says Republicans will \u201csupport the results of the midterm elections\u201d even if control of Congress shifts out of their favor. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe think we\u2019re going to win, but ultimately that\u2019s up to the American people,\u201d Vance said after the meeting. <\/p>\n<p>Vance\u2019s comments come in contrast to President Donald Trump\u2019s previous warnings that Republicans will \u201cnever win another Election\u201d if the SAVE America Act isn\u2019t passed before November. I will, sadly, be the last Republican President. Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and the Republican Senate, must not let this \u2018carnage\u2019 happen. They will go down on the wrong side of History, as will all Republicans who just stood by and watched.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although Vance vowed to accept the midterm results, he echoed Trump\u2019s calls to pass the SAVE America Act \u2014 whether through the budget resolution or as a standalone bill. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to do everything that we can to discourage cheating,\u201d Vance said. \u201cYou will hear Democrats sometimes say \u2014 and I love this line, I can\u2019t help but laugh at it \u2014 \u2018Cheating isn\u2019t that frequent in American elections.\u2019 Any frequency at all is a problem. A single ballot cast illegally in an American election is, in fact the theft of the ballot from another American citizen, from an American citizen who deserves to be able to vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s becoming more likely the SAVE America Act will not pass in time to be enacted nationwide before the midterm elections. Federal law dictates any changes to voter rolls, which is also covered in the legislation to remove ineligible voters, must be done 90 days before an election.
