At 43, Anne Hathaway is expecting her third child \u2014 which she has dubbed her \u201cbuzzer-beater\u201d baby. <\/p>\n

Hathaway, who stars in the upcoming film \u201cThe Odyssey,\u201d explained the affectionate nickname during a red carpet interview at the London world premiere while promoting the epic. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s always, you know, hope until there\u2019s not, but when you get to a certain age, that hope looks like it\u2019s about 1% to 2%,\u201d Hathaway said. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo we just decided to see where life took us, with a very, very healthy, realistic expectation, which was very low. We\u2019re overjoyed because we just know from personal experience that not everybody gets this, and certainly not when you want it \u2014 sometimes not ever,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt\u2019s a blessing that we do not take for granted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman, have two sons, Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6. She announced her pregnancy on June 19, before beginning the promotional tour for \u201cThe Odyssey.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cOh, my gosh. It\u2019s amazing. It\u2019s amazing,\u201d Hathaway said of her pregnancy during an appearance on \u201cLate Night with Seth Meyers,\u201d adding that she was \u201cshocked\u201d to find out she was pregnant again. <\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, we knew what we were doing, but we were so shocked it worked,\u201d she added. \u201cWe were so shocked it went this way, so we\u2019re calling this one our buzzer-beater.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hathaway also shared a tender moment with a red carpet reporter, who is also pregnant. \u201cWe have a lot in common,\u201d Hathaway told her. <\/p>\n

The reporter then revealed it is her first pregnancy, which came after a lot of work, false starts and heartache. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen this one safely lands, you and I will talk,\u201d Hathaway said. \u201cGood luck. Enjoy every second of it.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s one thing about the first, you\u2019re kind of up here,\u201d Hathaway said, gesturing to her head, \u201cbut you\u2019ve got to be here as much as you can,\u201d she added, placing a hand over her heart. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you have that history, it\u2019s hard every moment,\u201d Hathaway said. <\/p>\n

Hathaway has previously spoken candidly about her fertility journey. In 2019, while announcing her pregnancy with son Jack, she acknowledged that her path to pregnancy had not been straightforward and offered support to those facing infertility and conception struggles. <\/p>\n

Also during her promotional tour, she was gifted an \u201cOdyssey\u201d-inspired crocheted baby outfit during an interview with the \u201cToday\u201d show. <\/p>\n

Opening the gift, which included a diaper cover, a cape and a helmet, Hathaway fought back tears. <\/p>\n
