A suspect was apprehended early Monday in connection with an attack on a New York City building that holds multiple law enforcement agency offices, including the FBI, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and U.S. Customs and Enforcement.<\/p>\n

At around 8:20 a.m. EDT, an explosive sound was heard by those inside 26 Federal Plaza. Authorities found an individual with an airsoft rifle, carbon dioxide cartridges, halogen lighting and a helmet, per CBS News. The man had lit fireworks, poured gasoline right outside the building, and set it on fire. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis morning an individual deployed an incendiary device outside of 26 Federal Plaza. The individual has been taken into custody and the FBI New York Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating the incident,\u201d the FBI said in a statement to Fox News. A firearm was also discovered in relation to the event, but the FBI did not confirm whether or not it belonged to the suspect. <\/p>\n

The Department of Homeland Security said on X that the attack was done by an \u201canti-ICE rioter,\u201d who had a bag that apparently contained two pellet guns and a manifesto. <\/p>\n

At approximately 8:20 AM, an anti-ICE rioter launched fireworks outside of 26 Federal Plaza, grazing a bystander and poured what is believed to be gasoline on the stairs of the entrance of the building and set it on fire.
