It will have been exactly six months on Saturday since Nancy Guthrie was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona, home. <\/p>\n

Her daughter, \u201cToday\u201d co-host Savannah Guthrie, posted a video earlier this week with a plea to whoever took her mother against her will \u201cto do the right thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed,\u201d she said. \u201cI truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing. Help us bring this situation to an end. For all of us, no matter where we\u2019ve been and what we\u2019ve done, I believe there is always a way home.\u201d<\/p>\n

The timeline of Guthrie\u2019s disappearance began on Jan. 31 when she returned home for the night. In the early hours of Feb. 1, the 84-year-old\u2019s doorbell camera was disconnected. Moments later, a person police have identified as between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build, wearing a mask, long-sleeve shirt, and gloves is seen tampering with security equipment, per A&E.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement release ransom notes<\/h3>\n

On Feb. 2, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that Guthrie\u2019s disappearance was being handled as a crime and that she was believed to be abducted from her home.<\/p>\n

The Police Department released two ransom notes on Friday that they obtained back in February in hopes that the linguistic style combined with the camera footage of the masked individual will be recognized by someone in the public. <\/p>\n

\u201cThese communications reveal distinctive patterns of word choice, syntax, and phraseology that reflect the writer\u2019s unique linguistic style,\u201d per the press release. \u201cThey also provide valuable insight into the person\u2019s mindset, motives, and the evolution of their tone over time. A friend, family member, coworker, classmate, or acquaintance may recognize these patterns of expression and possess information that could help identify the individual responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n

There is a total of $1.2 million in reward for whoever brings forth knowledge about Guthrie\u2019s disappearance. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe, just as the family does, just as Savannah does, somebody knows something. We need that person to call us,\u201d Nanos told Fox News. <\/p>\n

Hair DNA reaches dead end<\/h3>\n

Investigators recently reached a dead end regarding hair DNA that was found inside Guthrie\u2019s home back in February. <\/p>\n

\u201cYes, there was a hair. We had it and thought, \u2018OK, well, we\u2019ll do the DNA first,\u2019 right? You\u2019re going to do DNA before something else,\u201d Nanos told Fox News.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt came back … there\u2019s no DNA,\u201d he said. \u201cBut does that mean the hair isn\u2019t that of the suspect? We won\u2019t know that till we have the suspect\u2019s hair. You don\u2019t just destroy it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cThere\u2019s other things that hair may prove valuable for, but right now it was just about, \u2018Is there any DNA there?\u2019 And the answer was no. … That was just a matter of weeks ago.\u201d<\/p>\n
