Zac Blair’s 3-over par final round in the U.S. Open Sunday at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club put him in in a tie for 32nd place.

His 3-over round mirrored that of Rory McIlroy, Sahith Theegala and even three-round leader Wyndham Clark through 14 holes.

Blair, a former BYU player who lives in Orem and grew up in Ogden, was the only player in the field from the state of Utah. 

Blair’s Open appearance included rounds of 71-70-72-73 on the tough, windy layout in New York. He began his Sunday round with bogeys on his first two holes before making birdie on No. 3.

He bogeyed Nos. 11, 14 and 15 but did make his second birdie of the day on No. 12.

His finish placed him almost dead in the middle of the field of 72 players who made the cut Friday.
