Little went wrong for Provo in its 47-15 victory over Timpanogos Wednesday night in Orem.

The Bulldogs never trailed, taking a 21-point lead into halftime, and only built on that for a dominant victory in both teams’ final regular season game.
“It feels good,” first-year Provo head coach Viliami Halasima said following his team’s victory. “We had a great week of practice. Some of our guys weren’t happy that we practiced on a Saturday night, but I felt we needed it, and it showed up today, and I’m so proud of them.”
The Bulldogs took advantage of a short field to get their first score. A Timberwolves turnover on downs from their own 37 yard line gave Provo a chance to seize control of the game, and the Bulldogs did just that.
In less than two minutes, Provo engineered a drive that was capped by junior quarterback Drevin Christensen throwing a 17-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Liam Schoenrock.
Provo was off to the races from there, scoring 21 points in the second quarter, including two touchdowns in 29 seconds.
An interception from Bulldog senior cornerback Brexton Hunter followed a 17-yard touchdown run by fellow senior Teave Brown playing running back. Two plays after the interception, Provo was in the end zone again, this time on a 3-yard run from junior running back Justice Tela.
The interception only got Hunter’s night started, as the two-way star scored two third-quarter touchdowns playing wide receiver.

“When Brexton Hunter’s on his A-game, man, there’s not many people that can cover him,” Halasima said. “We’re blessed and fortunate to have a player like him.”
Provo looked to be collectively on its A-game Wednesday night. Despite losing Christensen midway through the contest because of a hand injury, the Bulldogs didn’t miss a beat. Sophomore quarterback Fredric Beesley threw three touchdown passes in place of Christensen, keeping the offense humming in the second half.
“I feel like our offensive coaches do a really good job of just making sure the next man up is ready to go,” Halasima said. “(Beesley) stepped in and executed right on script with what we were doing and what we thought, how we could attack them, and it was great to see.”
Meanwhile, the Timpanogos offense never really got going due to Provo’s stifling defense that ultimately forced five turnovers on the night.
Halasima credited his defensive coordinator and players when asked about his team’s impressive outing on that side of the ball. “Coach (Kyler) Fackrell, he’s top-notch with his game planning, with his scheming, and the boys — again, they’re the ones executing. We couldn’t be more proud.”
The win gives Provo yet another region title, the school winning Region 8 for a fourth consecutive year.
“Winning our fourth region title in a row is something sweet for Provo High,” Halasima said. “I think it’s the first time in school history it’s ever been done, so (I’m) super proud of our boys and of our school.”
