While some kind of alcohol is typically on ice for series-clinching wins or championships, the Brewers had soda ready for their locker room party.

Because Pratt, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, doesn’t drink alcohol, his teammates made sure there were bottles of Fanta Orange on hand for the rookie shortstop. The church admonishes members to abstain from alcohol.

“That Fanta tastes fantastic, man. That Fanta tastes fantastic. Tastes special, tastes special after that one, man,” he exclaimed with goggles perched on his forehead.

Don’t think it gets better than #Brewers rookie Cooper Pratt celebrating with soda.

The 21-year-old Pratt made his major league debut with the Brewers on June 16, 2026, after signing an eight-year, $50 million contract with the team. The Hialeah, Florida, native has held the starting shortstop job since.

Sparkling cider and a T-shirt

Pratt missed Milwaukee’s NL Central Division-clinching party in September at a hotel in Pittsburgh due to a contagious flu-like illness. He was isolated in a room and listened to the game on the radio before later receiving a T-shirt and sparkling cider.

“When I was sick, I was like, frick, we’re going to win anyway. I’m going to be in my room. We’re going to celebrate another time, another couple of times,” he said.

Pratt hit .281 with 3 home runs and 34 RBI in 74 regular-season games. He’s hitting .267 through four playoff games but has yet to drive in a run. Pratt’s uncle, Trent Pratt, is the head baseball coach at BYU.

The Brewers, winners of a club-record 103 regular-season games, beat the Padres in San Diego to take the best-of-five division series in four games.

“Man, once we got the final out, I was pretty pumped up, man. Hearing the crowd go silent, just hearing the guys,” Pratt told Fox6 News Milwaukee between swigs of orange soda. “It was special, especially on the road, getting to be the villain.”

Milwaukee now faces the two-time defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, the team that bumped them from the playoffs last year. Pratt was injured when the Brewers played the Dodgers during the season.

“This will be the first time I’ve seen the Dodgers, just another game, same game. We’re going to play the same. We’re going to play to win,” he said.

And if they do, the Brewers, no doubt, will have Fanta Orange in the cooler for the celebration.
